Candid Outlook: Bafarat, Soho

Bafarat

This bakery/cafe is a true must see as it combines all things luxury and refined into pastries, sweet treats and small bites for a very affordable price.

Bafarat is one of the many places which took part in the ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ scheme. Therefore, our total bill was reduced by £20.

Despite this, this cafe is affordable with an afternoon tea priced at £25 per person. A perfect location to chat, catch up with friends or loved ones or even just have a quiet space to work.

The interior is simple, sleek and modern with social distancing markings keeping everyone safe. My guest and I had made reservations for a late afternoon tea. This can be done via DM on Instagram or WhatsApp.

We were promptly seated and handed the menu in which detailed the wide variety of drinks available. We choose, Iced Green Tea & Iced Americano with Hazelnut Syrup. Both drinks were included in the afternoon tea price.

The afternoon tea menu was explained throughly to us by the patisserie chef himself! A key touch we loved! He explained what to start with, what was included and wished us a pleasant tea experience.

Now, the afternoon tea was outstanding. I cannot beginning to say how amazing every item was! From the savoury pieces - that lobster roll was tasty, generous for an afternoon tea sandwich and so luxury! I could taste the efforts and love used to make this. Then the Truffle Croque Monsieur - MIND-BLOWING. As I type this, my mouth is literally salivating about how good it was. All I can say is -  take me back, take me back! Everything about these items were perfect and so Instagrammable. Imagine taking photos and everything just comes out right every single time. The care and precision is evident in taste, appearance and even durability during our mini photo sessions. Nothing melted or got cold too quick!

The chocolate tree is an additional £8 in which we opted for one to share. It was lovely indeed - chocolate pieces made for the very self-indulgent tea diner. I’ll include some close ups of the tree.

How gorgeous is this! Can you see the lustre on the Apple & Cranberry Tart and how perfectly placed all the items are! This afternoon tea strikes a good impression on any novice to the concept! We simply has so much fun trying out the different sweets and savouries and struggled to finish everything. It was a very generous afternoon and again, adequately priced!

Overall, I would highly recommend this afternoon tea and cafe! It was super relaxing, not too busy and just a lovely place to hang out. The service was lovely and the staff were friendly. They even offered to take photos of us too! We love this place! My guest and I will be returning as this is now our favourite afternoon tea place in London!

Here's a few other content pieces we took during afternoon tea:
